INTEGRITY MATTERS FOR CITIES, STATES, AND REGIONS

The Integrity Matters for Cities, States, and Regions report, created by a dedicated Expert Group convened by the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM) and WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, serves as a follow-up to the flagship HLEG Integrity Matters report launched last year at COP27. It outlines recommendations for subnational governments to ensure the credibility, accountability, and transparency of their net zero commitments while acknowledging their varied capacities and characteristics.

THE MULTILEVEL CLIMATE ACTION GUIDE FOR DECISION MAKERS

Following the launch of the Coalition for High Ambition Multilevel Partnerships (CHAMP) at the Local Climate Action Summit at COP28 in Dubai, building on the latest insights and good practices from the Global Covenant of Mayors alliance, and developed in partnership with WRI Ross Center for Cities (WRI), the Multilevel Climate Action Guide for Decision-makers highlights three recommendations that can catalyze governance and action across levels of government

GLOBAL COVENANT OF MAYORS AND ARUP RELEASE NEW REPORT, “UNLOCKING URBAN ENERGY ACCESS AND POVERTY”

Lacking access to affordable and reliable energy is a clear indication of deprivation in the daily lives of urban residents. Local governments are well aware of the urgency and benefits associated with tackling energy access and poverty. However, they frequently encounter significant and complex barriers that limit their ability to implement interventions or explore innovative solutions. To help local governments ensure access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for all, GCoM and ARUP released the highly anticipated Unlocking Urban Energy Access and Poverty research and summary reports.
