Regions
are locally specific coalitions of cities that have all made a commitment to take action on climate change – through the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy. Each Regional or National Covenant is a member of the Global Covenant of Mayors alliance and in some cases may be an existing initiative rather than a standalone or new effort. Regional covenants are supported by local, regional, and national city networks as well as other partners who provide support to cities that have made this ambitious commitment.
Engaging leaders in every region of the world strengthens the Global Covenant of Mayors’ coalition of cities. Together, we can advance local leadership and impactful climate action that delivers on the Paris Agreement.
